Fake bloody whip marks in bad 1970s porn

Fake bloody whip marks in 1970s Dutch porn

For as long as we’ve had BDSM porn photos, we’ve had fake cane scars and whip marks. One time I even found a photo of a model with fake markings on her butt.

My editorial policy on tagging is a bit leafy. To protect mild sentiments, I try not to show real/actual open wounds or blood (although I have shown bloody paddles of brutally innovative designs.) I’m not too worried about severe or colorful scars. I don’t worry at all about whether a given set of marks is real or fake, because art is art, and when it comes to visual media, a good fake can provide the same pleasure as the real thing. (More discerning readers sometimes protest to me about this.) However, if the score is too high, I might contradict myself. obviously Fake, I would avoid and not share these images, for the same reason, no one likes watching an obviously fake orgasm. Finally, I generally avoid fake traces of “gore”, which I find more off-putting than any honest dents and dents that intense or passionate BDSM play might cause.

Some of you may have never seen what I’m talking about. We rarely see fake blood in porn these days because credit card companies prohibit it. But in the free-wheeling 1970s, it was not uncommon for all the rules to change. Arthouse filmmakers were making extremely gory exploitation and horror films, while pornographic filmmakers were experimenting with cheap special effects and wondering what would sell in the underground zine space. As a result, it’s not uncommon to see cheap attempts at making BDSM porn – often made by average pornographers who don’t understand kink, and who miss or misunderstand all the important fetish hallmarks – including super fake bloody whiplash. Due to my interest in retro porn, I often come across it by accident.

As is my usual practice though, I’m posting these two images from a Dutch porn magazine from 1970 Guo #5. I guess I want to preserve and pass on the memory of how tacky and horrible porn was half a century ago. The whip marks were extensive but appeared to have been painted on with either oozing ketchup or cheap theatrical blood. I was actually more interested in the faux medieval costume, which unfortunately wasn’t displayed very well. But since many of you probably don’t expect to see fake blood on a spanking blog, the whip marks painted on it are obscured. Click on the image to see them in all their dubious glory.
