I’m a sociopath – here’s my one rule in the bedroom

A 29-year-old woman is helping women become more detached when dating after sharing with the world that she suffers from antisocial personality disorder.

Kanika Batra has been diagnosed with Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD). It is often called a sociopath. The Brisbane woman was told she became ill when she was 21 years old.

Common traits include ignoring others, manipulating others, and not feeling guilty.

“I suffered from so many migraines that I tried to end my life because not a single doctor took me seriously when I told them how bad the pain was,” Ms Bathra told news.com.au.

“I ended up in the hospital. I slept for 15 hours. When I woke up, they gave me the choice of going to the psychiatric ward or going to an outpatient psychiatrist.”

She chose the second option. The former Miss Universe Australia contestant saw a psychiatrist for 18 months.

He concluded that she suffered from ASPD and major depressive disorder. She had a behavioral disorder as a child. Her criminal conduct and abandonment of others also qualify. She said she fit the bill too well.

She described it as an “experience.” She said he helped her correct some of her risky behaviors. This included going bankrupt after a trip she couldn’t afford. Another example was flying overseas to visit people she had never met before.

The model says that after reading more, it’s hard to see how a forensic psychiatrist could come to any other conclusion.

She decided to jump online to share her experience.

“The disease itself is not only rare. If it’s a woman, it’s even rarer,” she said.

“If a woman exhibits any of the characteristics, they are automatically considered to have borderline personality disorder.”

She had no mood swings and said her moods resolved quickly, usually within an hour. She felt joy and excitement, but emotions like anger were stronger. “There’s not much underneath the surface,” Ms. Batra said, but that allowed her to be a chameleon and adapt to different environments.

But there are also disadvantages. She says people often don’t believe her because of her diagnosis. Psychiatrists often refuse to treat ASPD patients because of their tendency to lie. People didn’t believe her when terrible things happened to her. As a result of her diagnosis, she was accused of lying to gain sympathy.

That’s why she’s so vocal about what she’s been through. She was asked countless questions about whether she felt emotion and whether she felt love. People often come to her for dating advice. So, she’s now writing a book to document it all in one place.

“I get a lot of emails and messages asking me what a sociopath would do in these situations,” she said.

“How to not become attached so quickly, how not to let their empathy be taken advantage of, and how to avoid the abusive tactics that are constantly happening in the modern dating world, like gaslighting and denial.”

Women tend to become attached to men quickly, she said. She said there was no need to be so early. This often results in them getting injured in the process. Ms Batra said she was teaching women to “date like a sociopath”. She said she doesn’t want women to form emotional bonds until men show respect for their time and commitment.

“Sociopaths – men – tend to choose specific women because they are vulnerable and exhibit certain traumas that they can exploit,” she said.

“So I also share how sociopaths date and how they completely trade off the negative consequences of sex.”

Ms Batra describes her dating life as “serial monogamy”.

“But when I do date, I’m usually with three or four people at the same time,” she said.

But she won’t sleep with them. Ms Batra, who is bisexual, said there were many risks associated with sex, such as emotional bonding, pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections.

“I personally wouldn’t get involved unless I was already in a committed relationship and I felt comfortable enough in that position.”
