Adapting our ministry to changing times: What’s next?

As a result, we accomplished just under 80% of our fundraising goal this year. We have set the same amount for the last three years

what does that mean? Based on the comments we’ve gotten from some of the donations, what we have to say is still relevant and helpful. The problem is that blogging is an old platform with a rapidly shrinking user base. We’ve been aware of this for some time, and there are signs that our influence is shrinking. Based on this, we are not surprised that we were unable to raise the required funding.

So what does this mean for blogging? It seems unwise to devote a lot of time to a format that is dying. But at the same time, we feel a commitment to those who are still here.

At this moment, we are praying and thinking. We know people are looking for audio or video, and in order to attract young people, we have to move in that direction. We’ve had some encouraging results converting parts of The Marriage Bed website into an interview style podcast. We have a lot of ideas and I suspect there will be some trial and error.

There will still be some blogging, as well as any new things we do. We’re also working on an AI response system that will make thousands of our past posts more accessible. We are in no hurry. I expect you’ll see changes in March.

What does this mean for our finances? Fortunately, it wasn’t a disaster. Our ongoing marriage coaching is on the rise and should take care of us.

We desire your prayers as we make changes!
